FEDERALSBURG, Md. - Rachel A. Richardson of Federalsburg passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, in Delmar (Del.) Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was 89.
Born in Spartansburg, Pa., on April 6, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Adrian and Josephine Jaggi Bryant.
Mrs. Richardson's family moved from Pennsylvania to Federalsburg when she was 2 years old.
She attended Federalsburg High School.
She married Andrew A. Richardson on Jan. 29, 1934.
Mrs. Richardson was a devoted homemaker and worked for Fox's Department Store in Federalsburg.
She was a member of the Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies' Auxillary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Richardson, on Oct. 29, 1978; her daughter, Jo Ann Sullivan, in November 2006; two sisters, Ellen Meade and Betty Harper; a brother, Charles Bryant; a nephew, Buddy Meade; and a great-grandchild, Moriah Sutton.
Mrs. Richardson is survived by two sons, Andrew "Drew" Richardson Jr. and his wife Sherry of Federalsburg and Bryant Richardson and his wife Carol of Seaford; a son-in-law, Jimmy Sullivan of Federalsburg; two nieces, Lois Hudson of Bethany Beach and June Truitt and her husband Jim of Federalsburg; one nephew, Adrian Mead and his wife Alice of Millsboro; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Williamson Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Federalsburg, with the Rev. Otis Seese of the Glory Land Tabernacle officiating.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Federalsburg.
