R. Stanley Collier Sr., 93 HARRINGTON - Robert Stanley Collier Sr., of Harrington, formerly of Easton, Md., died at Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford, on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008. He was 93. Born in Easton, on Nov. 7, 1914, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Cornelia Macklem Collier. After graduating from Easton High School in 1931, he began his long career in farming. For years, he farmed the Springwood Farm and in addition, later the Maryland Pride Dairy near Easton. He moved to Harrington in April of 2000 where he farmed Colliers' Dairy Farm near Harrington. He was a member of the Harrington Baptist Church of Harrington, a former member of the First Baptist Church in Easton and he was also a former member of the Talbot County Farm Bureau among other organizations. His first wife, the former, Alice M. Butler whom he married on May 3, 1941, died on Feb. 11, 1994. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Anna C. Newkam; and three brothers, G. Edwin Collier, William Collier and Urban Collier. Mr. Collier is survived by his wife, Vivian Redden Seymour Collier whom he married on April 17, 1998; two daughters, Ellen C. Strange of Virginia Beach, Va., and Elaine C. Trice of Harrington; a son, R. Stanley Collier Jr. of Harrington; one sister, Dorothy C. Chilcoat of Baltimore; a stepdaughter, Susan Bruner of Berlin, Md.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 a.m.-noon Saturday in the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 408 S. Liberty St., Centreville, where the funeral will be held at noon. Officiating will be Rev. Clayton Clark. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Easton. Memorial donations may be made to the Harrington Baptist Church, 111 E. Liberty St., Harrington, DE 19952.
