Philip Wayne Pinder, 55
KENNEDYVILLE, Md. - Philip Wayne Pinder, of Kennedyville, died on May 16, 2009, in Kennedyville. He was 55. Born in Chestertown, on June 18, 1953, he was the son of the late Philip W. Pinder and of Dorothy Mae Atwell Pinder of Kennedyville. He attended Chestertown High School and then went into the family business, Pinder Service Company, started by his father and mother and continued on by Wayne, his wife, brother, daughter and his son. He attended Shrewsbury Episcopal Church and was a member of the Kent County Electrical Board. Wayne enjoyed coaching Pee Wee and Little League Baseball in Kennedyville. He was a loving and devoted family man who enjoyed life and spending time with his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Philip W. Pinder. In addition to his mother, Dorothy Mae Atwell Pinder, he is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Melinda S. Pinder; a daughter, Melanie R. Hickman and her husband Scott of Still Pond; a son, Philip Jason Pinder and his wife Kelly of Millington; a sister, Barbara Coleman and her husband Larry of Lynch; a brother, Gary Pinder and his wife Renita of Chestertown; three grandchildren, Gunner T. Hickman, Ella LeCates Pinder, and Noah Philip Pinder, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Sunrise Service will be 6 a.m. Thursday, May 21, at Shrewsbury Episcopal Parish in Kennedyville. A visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Rd, Chestertown, MD 21620. Interment will be in the Shrewsbury Parish Cemetery.
