OCEANVIEW - Peter Shepard Strange passed away Mar. 29, 2017, after a hard fought 10 week battle with brain cancer.
Peter was the fourth of five sons, of the late Theodore Booth Strange, MD and Adeline Bassett Cook "Cookie" Strange.
Peter had a way of making the best of whatever was put in front of him. He attended the Pilot School, in Wilmington, as one of its first students; a school that his mother was instrumental in starting. After graduating from the Pilot School, Peter became an accomplished carpenter, and made his living in that field. He was a meticulous craftsman, and took great pride in his work. 20 years ago, he moved to Sussex County from Wilmington, to build custom houses. He was an active member of the Lord Baltimore Lions Club, and much admired in his community. He loved boating and being on the water. During his ordeal with brain cancer, he moved back to Wilmington, where he spent time with his family and friends. He was also cared for by the members of Forwood Manor and Foulk Manor South, as well as, the hospice providers of, Heartland and Seasons. From all of the wonderful and caring providers, he received love, he returned it in kind.
On Mar. 29, after receiving prayers at his bedside, Peter passed on to eternal peace.
After a private interment, a memorial service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Apr. 12, 2017, at Christ Church, 505 Buck Road, Greenville, DE 19807.
in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to, The Pilot School, 208 Woodlawn Road, Wilmington, DE, 19803. CREMATION SERVICE OF DELAWARE
