MILFORD - Peter Carson Hallett of Ft. Lauderdale Florida, died Sunday June 1, 2014 after battling many illnesses over the last 15 years, he peacefully succumbed in the care of Hospice after a recent stroke. He was 80 years old. Born February 8, 1934 in Milford Delaware. Pete served in the Delaware National Guard, owned and operated Hallett's Rug and Upholstery Cleaning Service in Dover, Delaware for 30 years. He was a Charter member of the Delaware Lions Club for many years. Retiring to Ft. Lauderdale Florida in 1983, Pete learned to sail. Living on the water, opened the door to meeting new friends from around the world. He is remembered for his quick wit and interest in design and style. Pete was preceded in death by his parents William E. Hallett and Pauline Carson Hallett; Brother William E. Hallett, Jr. of Dover, Delaware. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judith Hallett; daughters Amber Hallett, Holly Pinnell and her husband Matthew of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; grandchildren Shannon Figueroa and husband Ralph of Dover, Delaware; Samantha Pinnell of Ft Lauderdale, Florida; great-grandchildren Aloni, Alexia and Ralph Figueroa; sister-in-law Phyllis Hallett of Ft Lauderdale, Florida; nephew William Hallett III and his wife Judi of Hurlock, Maryland; niece Jill Harris and her husband Martin of Ft Lauderdale, Florida. A graveside service will be held Sunday June 15, 1:30pm at Lakeside Cemetery, Dover Delaware. Friends are welcome to attend. Donations can be made to the Hospice of your choice.
