Pete B. Randolph, 64

DOVER - Pete B. Randolph, of Dover, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, in Kent General Hospital. He was 64. Mr. Randolph was born Sept. 28, 1944, in Earle, Ark., to the late John Randolph and Alvie Randolph. He served 29 years in the United States Air Force in both the military an civilian role including one year in Vietnam. Mr. Randolph was a C-5 crew chief civil service and the USAF Reserve. He was a member of the 362 TEWS while serving in Vietnam and retired from the DAFB 436 OMS (MAC). Mr. Randolph was an avid Dallas Cowboy and NASCAR fan who enjoyed the fantasy leagues. He had a passion for animals and nature. He was the Mr. Fixit of the family who everyone turned to for advice, guidance and home improvement needs. His witty sarcasm, charm and loving personality made a lasting impression on everyone he came into contact with. Most of all he was a family man who always put his family first. He cherished spending time with friends, loved ones and especially his grandchildren. Mr. Randolph is survived by his wife of 39 years, Julia Greek Randolph of Dover; his two daughters, Gena Potts and her husband David of Magnolia, Cathy Pennington and her husband George of Ashland, Ky.; three sons, Jim Kingsford and his wife Chrissy of Wyoming, Pat Goodhope of Middletown, John Dunning of Dover; and two brothers, Donald Randolph of Clarksville, Tenn. and James Randolph of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Shirley Baron of Wynne, Ark., Mabel Lucas of Little Rock, Ark.; four grandchildren, Julie Edwards, David Jackson, Shane Walker and Colin Peter Potts. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover. Friends may call two hours prior. Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. Instead of flowers, donations in Pete's honor may be sent to Vietnam Veterans of America, Kent County Chapter 850, First National Bank, 28 Deak Dr., Smyrna, DE 19977, Attn: T. Schwartz. Letters of condolences may be sent, and guestbook may be signed, at www.torbertfuneral.com.
