DENTON, Md. - Pauline Alberta Butler of Denton departed this life on Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 in Easton Hospital, Easton. She was 50.
She was born in Easton, the daughter of the late Thomas Brown Sr. and Lucille Brown.
Pauline is resting in sleep until that getting up morning.
She loved the Lord. She showed that in every phase of her life.
God gave Pauline the gift of spiritual writing , not to impress anyone, but her own spiritual growth.
Pauline was baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist Church at Mt. Carmel in 1998.
Her sister, Liz was instrumental in ministering her into the Adventist faith.
Pauline held several positions in the church; deaconess, disability leader, religious liberty leader, hostess and greeter, and assistant Sabbath school teacher.
She also assisted the clerks department and communications department when needed.
Pauline was a member of the Sanctuary Choir and Women's Ministry.
Recently, she joined the women's prayer circle and was secretary.
Pauline attended North Caroline High School.
After graduating, she worked various jobs.
She saw a need to further her education so she attended Chespaeake College.
After graduating, she became an assistant teacher at Colonel Richardson Middle School.
Pauline was also a caregiver at St. Benedictine School until her health failed.
She loved working with plants and different types of flowers.
Pauline did landscaping with her husband.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Brown Jr.; and her sister, Elizabeth Nichols.
She is survived by her devoted husband, George Butler Sr. of Denton; three sons, Dameon Brown and his wife Maya of Olympia, Wash., Jerome Butler and Jason Butler, both of Denton; three stepchildren, Melissa Sampson and her husband James of Seaford, Del., George Butler Jr. and Kevin Butler of Denton; eight grandchildren, Jerome Butler Jr., whom she was raising, Dameon Brown Jr., James Sampson Jr., Asia Sampson, Tamika Sampson, Geolisha Butler, Zai Scott, and Jeffery Mitchell; four sisters, Joyce Hopkins of Dover, Del., Esther Nichols and her husband James of Harrington, Sandra Brown-Robinson of Union City, Calif., Sharon Brown of Denton,; three brothers, Clarence Acree and his wife Vera of Greensboro, George Brown and Gregory Brown of Denton; five aunts, Beatrice Rich and her husband Enoch, Mary Seth, Irene Drummond and Doris Butler; two uncles, Allen Seth and his wife Willa and Andrew Seth; five sisters-in-law, Thelma Wright, Sharon Butler, Darlene Butler, Elizabeth Humphrey and her husband Earl and Mary Newbill and her husband Charles; two other brothers-in-law, Randolph Brown and Earl Nichols; four very special friends, Virginia Nichols, Debbie Courney, Letha Mae Jones, Regina Warner; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Sunday in the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Mt. Carmel, Harrington, where friends may call two hours prior.
Burial will be in the Sandtown Cemetery, Hillsboro.
