Paul G. Hunter, 80

BETHANY BEACH - Paul G. Hunter of Bethany Beach, formerly of Bethesda, Md., passed away Thursday March 1, 2007, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 80.

He was born in Washington, D.C., son of the late Paul and Ann (Lee) Hunter.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Hunter was a retired teacher at the Blessed Sacrament School, Archbishop Carroll High School and Gonzaga High School.

He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, American Legion Post 5 of Rehoboth Beach, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Mason Dixon Post 7234, Ocean View.

He was an avid sports fan and during his teaching career he coached high school football, baseball and basketball.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joan (Holmes) Hunter; children, Glenn Hunter and his wife Joyce, Thomas Hunter and his wife Lisa, Kathleen H. Kieffer and her husband Steve; seven grandchildren, Brian, Patricia, Timothy, Andrew, Marykate, Coley, and Maggie.

A memorial Mass will be held Monday, 11 a.m. in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, where friends may call after 10 a.m.

Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, South in Millsboro at 2 p.m.

Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Paul's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
