DOVER - Patricia May Bell (nee Gates), formerly Wright, peacefully at Silver Lake Center, Dover, on Monday, March 7, 2011, in her 92nd year. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, she had served with the Canadian Woman's Army during World War II. She loved the game of golf and was an avid bridge player. She enjoyed summers in Muskoka at her cottage in Dorset. Patricia was a member of The Hamilton Golf and Country Club and Mapledale Golf and Country Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Wright (1978); and her husband, Courtland A. Bell Jr. (2002); her parents, F.A. and Phyllis Gates; her sisters, Dulce Waller, Marjorie (Charlie) Holgate, and Sheila Black. She is survived by her children, Kim and her husband Michael Johnston of Hamilton, Ontario, Alex, and Gordon Wright, of Dorset, Ontario; stepchildren, to Court Bell and his wife Ann, Friday Harbor, Wash., and Cathy Keiter of Markham, Va.; and grandchildren, Christian (Laura), Benjamin (Shelly), Patrick (Celine), and Megan (Sean). Special thanks for the outstanding care received from Silver Lake Center, Kent General Hospital, Milford Hospital (re-hab) and Hamilton General Hospital. The family is indebted to Ray and Judy Allen and to Anna, Terry, Ruth and Sybil. The funeral service will take place at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Christ Church, 501 S. State Street, Dover. A Celebration of Patricia's life will be held in Hamilton at a later date.
