Orilee R. Lohman, 74

REHOBOTH BEACH - Orilee R. Lohman of Rehoboth Beach died suddenly Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 74.

Mrs. Lohman was born Dec. 15, 1932, in Edgewood, Pa., a suburb of Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Charles T. and Laura (Sloan) Roller.

She was a 1950 graduate of Edgewood High School. She later graduated with her Bachelor of Science from Westminster College, New Wilmington, Pa., and earned her master's degree in music education from Penn State.

For 10 years, Mrs. Lohman was a music teacher in Everette, Pa., and served as choral director for 20 years at Shiloh United Church of Christ, York, Pa. Also during this time, she served as a substitute teacher for various York suburban school districts.

She loved going to the beach and she enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband. She also liked playing cards and was an avid reader. Her grandchildren were a joy to her and she devoted herself to them.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Joseph L. Lohman; two daughters, Amy Stranix and her husband Frank of Glassboro, N.J., and Stephanie Olsen and her husband John of Abington, Pa.; a brother, Richard Roller of Pittsburgh; and three grandchildren, Nicholas Stranix, Erica Stranix and Gabrielle Olsen.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel United Methodist Church, W. 4th St., Lewes, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Lewes. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. James T. Olsen.

Friends may also call at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lewes Public Library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes, DE 19958; Lewes Senior Center, 310 Nassau Park Road, Lewes, DE 19958; or Cape Henlopen Senior Center, 11 Christian St., Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
