Norman R. DeNicola Jr.

SMYRNA - Norman R. DeNicola Jr. (Norm), 50, passed away Saturday July 21, 2018 at Bayhealth Milford Hospital with his wife Robin, by his side. Norman was a longtime resident of Meriden, Conn. but had been residing in Smyrna for the last 3 years.
Norman was born Jan. 22, 1968 in Hartford, Conn. and was adopted by Patricia and Norman R. DeNicola Sr. He attended St. Paul High School (Bristol, Conn.) and graduated from Platt High School (Meriden, Conn.) in 1986. He worked for Aetna, Inc. for last 20 years and made some great friendships with his colleagues. Norm cherished his many, many friendships and would give his last penny to help a friend in need. He most enjoyed boating on the Connecticut River, watching football, going to cover band concerts and just hanging out with his friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norman R. DeNicola Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Robin DeNicola; children, Paul (Erica) Frechette and Nicole (Al) Depaulo; grandchildren, Hailey, Olivia and Mason; mother, Patricia DeNicola; sister, Shawn (Jay) Dean and a nephew, Jay and a niece Tera; and his sister-from-another-mother, Renee (David) Bright.
A memorial gathering will be held 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday July 28, 2018 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation, 411 Hackensack Ave., Hackensack, NJ 07601; the National Kidney Foundation, Inc., 30 East 33rd St. New York, NY 10016; or to any animal shelter.
