Norma J. Fleming

Norma J. Fleming, 73 ELLENDALE - Norma J. Fleming, of Ellendale, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was 73. Norma was born in Milton, the daughter of the late Arthur R. and Mary Porter Carey. She grew up in Milton and was involved in many community events and had donated land for the Governor's Walk. She owned and operated Norma's Sub Shop in Milton for 42 years. She was a member of the Antique Bottle Club, and Bridge Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Fleming; and son, Kevin Fleming. She is survived by her son, Keith Fleming and his wife Linda of Ellendale; one brother, Ronald Carey of Harbeson; two half brothers, Matthew Carey of Malvern, Fla., and Mark Carey of Naperville, Ill.; two grandchildren, Kelly Strunk and Josh Fleming; and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, March 18, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Burial will be private. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803-0163.
