Nelson T. Kimble, 93

STILL POND, Md. - Nelson T. Kimble, 93, was born on Sept. 16, 1915, to Charles William Kimble and Anna E. Payne Kimble, he passed on June 16, 2009, in his daughter's home. He grew up in Queen Anne's County around the Roberts, Church Hill area. He was self educated, working at the age of 12 in Queen Anne's and later moved to Delaware until his father passed. He married Edna Marie Davis in 1936 and had three children, Sandra, Phil and Donna, and foster parent to 15. He worked in Kent and Queen Anne's Counties and in 1945 moved to Chino Farm, working for 50 years, retiring in 1996. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Edna Marie Davis Kimble in 1989; his parents; five brothers, Charles, Medford, Webster, Dudley and Edgar; and three sisters, Fanny, Marie, and Martha. Mr. Kimble is survived by two daughters, Sandra DiBenedetto of Orlando, Fla., and Donna Short and husband Bill of Still Pond; a son, Phil Kimble and wife Betty of Aston, Pa.; four grandsons, Eddie DiBenedetto, Aaron, Andrew and Austin Short; two great-grandchildren, Cody and Shawn DiBenedetto; and many nieces and nephews, all whom he loved very much. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening, June 19, in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 20, in Crumpton Cemetery, Crumpton. Memorials may be offered to the Benedictine School, 14299 Benedictine Lane, Ridgley, MD 21660.
