Myrtle Lee (Figgs) Bechtel, 72

SEAFORD - Myrtle Lee (Figgs) Bechtel of Seaford died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, in her son's home in Mardella Springs, Md. She was 72.

Mrs. Bechtel was born in Seaford, daughter of the late Helen Elizabeth Tyndall and Allen Dale Figgs.

She lived in various states throughout her life before returning to her hometown in 1985.

An excellent seamstress, Mrs. Bechtel was employed by Butler's Sewing Center for more than 20 years.

She had a love for gardening and took good care of that which was entrusted to her.

Mrs. Bechtel attended St. John's United Methodist Church, Seaford.

She is survived by three sons, Steven John Bechtel and Mark Richard Bechtel, both of St. Louis, and Thomas Scott Bechtel of Mardella Springs; a brother, A. Dale Figgs of Seaford; two sisters, Janet F. Cordrey of Bethel and Barbara L. Jaffee of Hockessin; and a granddaughter, Brittany L. Bechtel.

Services were Wednesday in Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Seaford. The Rev. Boyd Etter officiated.

Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Coastal Hospice and Home Care, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802; or A.I. Dupont Hospital for Children, 1600 Rockland Road, P.O. Box 269, Wilmington, DE 19899.
