MILTON - Myra Hager-Oates passed away at Cadia Healthcare Renaissance in Millsboro on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the late Irving and Ruth (Fredericks) Hager on March 11, 1940.
Myra worked for 11 years as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor, retiring in 2004. Moving to Milton, she enjoyed a life of serving and volunteering with organizations such as the Friends of Milton Public Library and the Milton Food Pantry. You could often find her baked goods at the Milton Historical Society, the Milton V.F.W. and the Milton Fire Company.
She is survived by her husband, John F. Oates; children, Barbara Swinton, and James, Katherine and John and his wife Amy Feldmann; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Ivan, Heather, Logan, Abigail, Tyler, Rilee and Addisyn; and seven great-grandchildren, Mya, Chloe, Ava, Nevaeh, Elijah, Isaiah and Alayah.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Milton Fire Hall, 116 Front St., Milton on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018 at 1 p.m.
