Mildred Edna 'Sue' McNeal, 74
SMYRNA - Mildred Edna "Sue" McNeal of Smyrna died peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 74.
Mrs. McNeal was born Nov. 1, 1932, in Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Thomas Newton and Edna Jane Brackin Springer of New London, Pa.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jerry J. McNeal Sr.; a son, Jerry Jr. and his wife, Bonnie of McLean, Va.; three daughters, Sharon Lee and her husband, Richard Shepherd of Lakeland, Fla., Florrie Lynn and her friend, Dennis Lundy of Wilmington and Beverly Ann and her husband, Darrel Lindley of Orlando, Fla.; five grandchildren, Scott, James, Stephanie, Amy and Kimberly; 11 great-grandchildren, Anthony, Brittany, Dominic, Allannah, Ashley, Joshua, Brooke, Alexia, Aiden, Hailey and William; two sisters, Emily Malone and Mary Alice Springer; and a brother, Erwin Ralph Springer.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC., 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, along with her other best friend and loving dog, Lucky J., who passed away Oct. 11, 2004.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice Inc., 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
