SEAFORD - Mildred Catherine (Stahre) Hearn of Seaford died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, in Sena Kean Manor in Pennsylvania. She was 76.

Mrs. Hearn was born Feb. 4, 1930, in Salisbury, Md., daughter of the late Karl J. Sr. and Naomi C. Stahre.

She graduated from Delmar High School in 1947.

Mrs. Hearn married Linwood Fitzgerald and they divorced in 1960. She then married Irvin J. Hearn in 1961. They spent a lot of time traveling as he was in the U.S. Army. She was preceded in death by Mr. Hearn in 2002.

She worked a few years as a telephone operator for the Delmar Telephone Co., and then as a proofreader for the Salisbury (Md.) Times. With each of her husband"s military movements, she would get involved immediately spending most of her time selling Tupperware and Avon, and participating in brownies, girl scouts and many church activities. When Mr. Hearn retired to Seaford, she had a home day care center.

Mrs. Hearn was a very active member in the Seaford Christian Church for more than 20 years.

She is survived by six daughters, Linda Stahre, Debra Hearn, Jeannette Kemp, Judith DuVernois, Kimberly Grinnell and Shelly Evans; three sons-in-law, Edward Morelli Jr., Bobby Evans and Laird Grinnell; 12 grandchildren, Karl J. Stahre III, Thomas J, Kemp, Joshua R. Kemp, Sarah DuVernois, Kyle Conway, Nicholas Conway, Jackie Fransesco, Olivia Grinnell, Haley Grinnell. Nicole Fransesco, Joey Wallace, Noah Wallace and Kirra Wallace; four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn R. Stahre, Alexis N. Stahre, Shaun Kemp and Lela Kemp; two brothers, Karl J. Stahre Jr. of Cambridge, Md., and Paul W. Stahre of Sicklerville, N.J.; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Seaford Christian Church, Del. 13, Seaford.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Society or the Seaford Christian Church.
