Michael Anthony Liberto
Michael Anthony Liberto, born June 30, 1962, to Sandra Fountain Liberto and Anthony Liberto in Dover, DE; left this earth to be with the Lord. He was a graduate of Ceasar Rodney High School in Camden, Delaware in 1980. He knew he was loved, and he loved, he was kind, caring, had a rare type of humor, loved music, smart, a memory for the past, a thirst for the future. He loved his animals, especially his dogs. He leaves behind his beloved dog, Art, named after a dear friend of ours. He would take you back with his comments sometimes, but anyone that knew him, knew that was his way, that rare kind of humor. He never failed to contact people he cared for and loved, sometimes, many times a day, so much it drove you a little crazy, long to hear his voice again. He grew up and at a young age of around thirteen helped in the family business, worked as a jack of all trades and, he was an integral part of Liberto Plaza until a few years ago. Difficulties in his life were presented, depression, alcoholism, and health problems, he fought his demons every day. He would call if only to say hello, or tell you a song he was listening to, if someone was ill or someone had passed, weddings, birthdays, Christmas, wanting to let you know he cared. He would call his mom and dad, always say I love you, tell pop I love him, or if speaking with dad, tell mom I love her. He loved his brother, Jeff. Jeff would call or see him daily, Jeff cared so much, there was nothing he wouldn't do for or with Michael and Michael was the same for Jeff. He loved Joyanne, Jeff's wife. Michael loved his nieces, Isabella, Sophia and Alessandra, they brought him so much joy, always joking with them "in the Michael way", always saying "I love you girls", hugging each one to show his love for them. Often spoke of his brother, Joe and nephew, Wesley Liberto with love. As he did for his aunt Beverly Dickinson. In the last few weeks, he knew his time was near, he spoke of how he wanted things taken care of, he was afraid of dying alone. On April 12th, he called me and asked me to call him the next day, he had an appointment. I called twice, he never answered, I called Jeff, he found Michael sitting in his chair, his dog Art ran to Michael, he was not alone. We may never hear him say "I love you dearly" anymore, but we'll never forget. Don't pass up a moment to tell your family you love them and those you hold close you care. I have a "red" amaryllis, on the day you passed, four "white" blooms appeared, never happened in years. God was letting us know he was taking care of you. Rest In Peace Michael, you are in heaven now, we will always love you "dearly".
