Meyrick John Heath

DOVER - Meyrick John Heath passed away on October 19, 2015 in Dover. He was born in Dorset County, England on October 11, 1922 to the late Stanley Robert and Doris May (Nee: Tate) Heath. He served as an officer in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was employed by Sears Roebuck & Co. in Philadelphia, retiring in the early nineties. Meyrick was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia May (Nee: Auld) Heath. They loved traveling to England for their vacations many times. His hobby, which he pursued for most of his life, was model shipbuilding. He made a variety of ship models, crafting them all by hand. Meyrick is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth A. Kennedy and her husband William J. Kennedy; two granddaughters, Jennifer L. Aho and her husband Seth and Rebecca A. Shane and her husband Alexander. A memorial service will be 12 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Faith Community Church, 2240 S. DuPont Highway, Camden, DE 19934, where there will be a visitation from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901. Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com
