Merrick E. Adams

GREENSBORO, Md. - Merrick E. Adams, of Greensboro, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011, at his home. He was 88. Born in Oxford, Md., Mr. Adams was the son of the late Herman Adams and Sadie Cook Adams. His wife, Lula Mae Spence Adams, died April 30, 1992. Mr. Adams had lived in the mid-shore area all of his life. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, having served in the 13th Armored Division. He had worked a production foreman at the Chestertown Powder plant and at the Easton Coca Cola plant. Mr. Adams is survived by a stepdaughter, Dorothy Pilkenton of Harrington; a step son, Paul Spence of Wyoming; and a sister, Virginia Creamer of Easton, Md. He was preceded in death by two stepsons, Norman Spence and Linwood Spence; two brothers, Charles Adams and Herman (Buddy) Adams, Jr.; and two sisters, Elizabeth Caulk and Helen Lord. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second St., Denton, Md., where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
