Melissa Ann Lowman passed away suddenly on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018.
She was born in Dover. She graduated from Ashley Hall in South Carolina. Melissa received her associates degree at Wesley College and her her gaming license from Delaware Technical College. She was employed at the State Senate from 1993 to 1997. Her fondest memories there were Sen. Margret Rose Henry and the numerous Senators and Representatives she came into contact with. She worked for a short time at the YMCA and Dover Downs Casino. Melissa was extremely proud of her involvement with the Christians Woman's Club. Numerous posting on Facebook gives tribute to her standing in the community and admiration from friends and family. She loved to decorate her home for the holidays with family. Sarah and Nick were the center of her life, thriving to make Hallmark holiday and memories for them. Melissa will be remembered for her loving personality.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Maurice and Sarah Sipple; her father, Sun Eagle John Gundecker of the Mattaponi Indian Reservation in Virginia; uncle, Maurice (Buddy) Sipple; aunt, Susan Sipple; and cousin, Jason Sipple.
Melissa is survived by the loves of her life her children, Sarah Ann Lowman and Nicholas Lee Lowman; her mother, Dollie Sipple Cubbage; her dad, James Cubbage; and sisters, Adrienne Sipple, Shereen Waterlily, and Debra Casey; aunts, Donna Sipple and Joan Sipple; uncles, Wayne Sipple and Martin Sipple (Patty); cousins, Stacey (Shawn) Christianson, Katie Courtney, Christina Hearing; and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
