Master Sergeant Raymond Paul Provost (retired), passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Kent General Hospital. "Ray" was born on May 26, 1950, in Patterson, N.J. to the late Edward and Evelyn (Moran) Provost.
Ray enlisted in the Air Force in 1969 and retired after 24 years of service in 1993. He began his second career with the State of Delaware working for the Division of Child Mental Health and retired after 20 years. He enjoyed being outdoors and could often be found walking the trails at Cape Henlopen State Park and Bombay Hook Natural Wildlife Refuge. Mr. Provost was an avid animal lover and was especially fond of his late dogs Blaze and Rocky. Raised in the Catholic faith he gave his life to the Lord. He was good to his family and always put the needs of others before his own. He had a humble natured spirit and would be quick to help one in need and never spoke an unkind word of anyone. He was just an all-around "good guy".
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother, Edwin Provost.
Mr. Provost is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Nida G. Provost, of Dover; children, Nida Lambert (Roy) of Munford, Tenn.; Raymond P. Provost (Samantha Noviscky) of Dover; brother, Richard Provost (Janis) of Manchester, N.J.; sisters, Florence Galassini (Mike) of Ellenton, Fla., Evelyn Husarenko (Alex) of Whiting, N.J.; sister-in-law, Judy Provost of Toms River, N.J.; three grandchildren, Victoria, Erika, and Noah.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Del. Friends may visit one hour prior.
