Mary Virginia Willey

MILFORD - Mary Virginia Willey, 82, of Milford, died Friday, April 29, 2011, at her daughter Cindy's home. She was born in Pocomoke, Md., son of the late Robert Lee Tomlin and Lottie Brittingham Tomlin. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Scott L. Pfeiffer; stepfather, John Mohlin; and also her husband, James P. Willey. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was always there for her family Mrs. Willey was a loving caregiver for the parents, and her husband and she enjoyed country music. She was a homemaker and member of the Avenue United Methodist Church, in Milford. Virginia loved to walk her dog Sparky, have her hair done and loved animals in general. She is survived by three children, Larry Pfeiffer and wife Linda of Woodside, Bruce Pfeiffer and his wife Kathy of Milford, and Cindy Swain and her husband Gary of Lincoln; seven grandchildren, Canice Kinnel and husband Steve, Jason Pfeiffer and wife Jessica, Heather Finch and husband Stephen, Jennifer Swain-Webb, Erica Melvin and husband Michael, Coray Pfeiffer and Amy Swain and her boyfriend Charles Morton, Jr.; eight great-grandchildren; and special nephew, Joshua Willey and his wife Elaine. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m., Thursday May 5, 2011, in the Chapel of Berry Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will be Milford Community Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 625, Georgetown, DE 19947; or Delaware Hospice Center 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
