Mary H. Ward, 75

DAGSBORO - Mary H. Ward of Dagsboro, formerly of Washington, D.C., passed away Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, in Atlantic General Hospital, Berlin, Md. She was 75.

Mrs. Ward was a 1951 graduate of the Garfield Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Washington, D.C.

Before retiring, she was a hospital administrator for Washington Hospital Center and Montgomery General Hospital, and a registered nurse at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.

Mrs. Ward was a former South Bethany police commissioner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter G. Ward, in 2003.

She is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Laura and William Nicholson and Margaret and Scott Haas; five grandchildren, Adam D. Wheeler, Katherine Ashby, Allison Haas, William Nicholson and Angela Nicholson; and a brother, Gerald E. Hoak of Hagerstown, Md.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery South, Millsboro.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Grace Lutheran Church, Stoney Man Parish, Luray, VA 22835.
