Mary Gumrot, formerly of Glenside, Pa. passed away Milford Place, on Monday, April 5, 2021. She was the daughter of the late John and Anna Pelech.
Mary worked at Glenside Elementary where she was the head cook for over 30 years. She was very proud of her Ukrainian heritage. Mary and her late husband, Michael, helped to raise over $25,000 to start the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church. They held the privilege of being the second registered perishers in the church which they were deeply involved with.
Mary was a caring and giving person by natural. She held a deep love for her family who will miss her immensely. She was an avid baseball fan and devout Catholic.
In addition to her parents; Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Gumrot; sisters, Margaret, Susan, Anna, and Theresa.
Mary is survived by her sons, Michael Gumrot (Carol) and Robert Russell (Nicolette); grandchildren, Stephanie Gumrot, Michael Gumrot, Robyn Burns and Jacklyn Wilson; and nine great grandchildren.
