GREENWOOD - Mary E. Scott, of Greenwood, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at home, surrounded by the family she loved dearly. She was 79.
She was born in Shreveport, La., to the late Olie and Pearl Forshee Sr.
Mrs. Scott was a homemaker, who made it her mission in life to take care of her family.
She lovingly cared for and provided for her children and husband.
Mrs. Scott was known for her cooking skills, and loved to spend time in her kitchen.
She was a gracious hostess and was never happier than when her home was filled with friends and family.
Mrs. Scott's love for her family was also matched by her love for her Savior.
She enjoyed spending time in church, and was a faithful and devoted Christian.
Mrs. Scott was a member of the God's Missionary Church of Delmar, Md.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Otis L. Scott of Greenwood; son and daughter-in-law, Max and Betty Scott of Easton, Md.; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Bob Moore of Greenwood, and Carol and Bruce Jenkins of Greenwood; brother, Olie Forshee Jr. of Many, La.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn and Elmer Carr of Shreveport, Peggy and John Mervine of Brooksville, Fla., and Marlene and Loy Williams of Independence, Mo.; grandchildren, Ellen Shiery of Greenwood, Natalie Scott of Oklahoma City, Okla., Tyler and Megan Scott of Tulsa, Okla., Chad and Kari Jenkins of Greenwood, Jeff Shiery of Greenwood, Laura Scott of Alexandria, Va., Leah Jenkins of Johnson City, Tenn., and Ray and Marlena Betler of Annapolis; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood.
Instead of flowers, donations may be made to the Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
