GREENWOOD - Mary E. Nieberlein, of Greenwood, died, Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at her home in the Greenwood Retirement Community. She was 92. Mary was born in Baltimore, Md., on April 14, 1919, the daughter of Sommerfield and Mary Zeigler Richardson. She and her husband were foster parents to five boys and moved from Pasadena, Md. to Delaware in 1992. Mary was a secretary for Read Drug Company. She was a member of the Greenwood Mennonite Church. Mary loved dogs and doing gardening. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer F. Nieberlein in 1999; and three brothers. She is survived by a foster son, Tommy Logwood of Pasadena, Md.; special friends and helpers, Berta and Randy Kauffman; and will also be missed by her friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at the Greenwood Mennonite Church, friends may call one hour prior to service. Interment will be held at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to, Greenwood Mennonite Church, P.O. Box 246, 12525 Shawnee Rd., Greenwood, DE 19950. Arrangements by Fleischauer Funeral Home, Greenwood.
