MILFORD - Mary C. Torbert peacefully entered eternal rest on July 3, 2021 at the Delaware Hospice Center with her daughter near by her side.
Mary was a stay-at-home mother for many years and later was employed by Vlasic Foods, Wal-Mart (Milford) and through the years was a caregiver to her late husband, William, who preceded her in death on November 17, 2020.
She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, going for drives in the beetle bug car with her daughter, reading books and watching tv.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Sarah Fitzcharles (James); sisters, Ilene Baker (Albert) and Yvonne Cooper (James); a host of nieces and nephews; and her cats, Belle and Mickey.
Special thanks to Christiana Care VNA, Delaware Hospice and Palliative Care, Fresenius Kidney Care of Milford, and the host of nurses and doctors who cared for her through the years.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 12 noon. A time of visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
