WILMINGTON, DE - Marjorie Jean Engelhardt passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at home with her loving family by her side. She was a breast cancer survivor who lost her battle with leukemia. Marjorie was the daughter of the late Vincent and Ruth Hemmer. Mrs. Engelhardt worked in central supply at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y. for over 15 years, as well as being a homemaker. She loved sewing, and belonged to a Sewing Guild and enjoyed making her own clothes, as well for her children and grandchildren. Her favorite activities included shopping, gardening, and singing in the choir at church. She loved spending time with her family and hosting holiday dinners. She will be remembered as a caring and loving person who would give you the shirt off of her back. She was very outgoing and made friends with everybody. Her kindness was balanced with a great sense of humor that always kept you laughing. Her upbeat attitude and generosity will be greatly missed by her family and close friends. Mrs. Engelhardt was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Denton and a former president of the Senior Womens Club in Tampa, FL. Mrs. Engelhardt is survived by her loving husband, George Englehardt of Wilmington; sons, Steven Lunberg of Knoxville, Tenn., Mark Lundberg of Sugarland, Texas ; daughter, Susan Stock of Denton, Md.; sister, Joanne Gardner of El Cajon, Calif.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Service will be held Monday, Nov. 22, 2010 at 12:00 Noon at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE 19952. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington, Del. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 702B Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE. 19805. Arrangements are by the Melvin Funeral Home, Harrington, DE.
