CENTREVILLE, Md. - Marion E. Walls of Centreville died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, in the Caroline Home for Hospice. He was 96.
Born in Marydel on Sept. 20, 1911, Mr. Walls was the son of the late Ebin Walls and Julia Ann (Ireland) Walls.
His wife, Catherine Mae Walls, died on Feb. 3, 2005.
Mr. Walls moved to Queen Anne's County from Caroline County before World War II.
He worked as a carpenter for Connolly Gannon and then the Bennett Lumber Co., Centreville, retiring in 1973.
Mr. Walls crabbed, fished and worked his garden.
He was a member of the Queen Anne's Sportsman's Association.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brenda Middleton.
Mr. Walls is survived by two daughters, Shirley A. Middleton of Houston, Del. and Patricia W. Davis of Centreville; four grandchildren, Eric Handzo, Julia Handzo, Catherine Drummer, and Michael M. Middleton; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a foster great-granddaughter.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Md. 50, near Easton.
There are no calling hours.
Instead of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Caroline Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 362, Denton, MD 21629.
