Marie P. McGee, 86

LAUREL - Marie P. McGee of Laurel passed away peacefully at her home in Laurel on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007. She was 86.

She was a daughter of the late Herbert and Annie Hallen Peigh.

Marie was a farmer and homemaker.

She was know for her baking, especially her cakes.

Marie was a 48-year member of the First Baptist Church of Seaford.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John "Jack" R. McGee whom passed away in 2006.

Marie is survived by her sons, John McGee and his wife Jean of Laurel, Donald McGee and his wife Diane of Delaware City, Thomas McGee and his wife Debbie of Laurel, Paul McGee of Laurel and Michael McGee of Laurel; her daughters, Patricia Morris and her husband Bob of West Chester, Pa., Jane McGee and her husband Richard of Newark, Sue Ellen Messick of Laurel, Gail Tipton and her husband Michael of Laurel and Arleen Baynard and her husband Frank of Hurlock, Md.; her brother, Carl Peigh of Napa, Calif.; sisters, Hazel Vugteveen of Michigan, Ruth Witaker of New Castle and Dot Garrison of Carolina; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday in the First Baptist Church of Seaford, 543 N. Bradford St., Seaford, where friends may call one hour prior.

A viewing will also be from 7-9 p.m. Saturday in the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home 700 West St., Laurel.

Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Laurel.

The Revs. Michael Hopkins and Richard Blades will officiate.

Contributions can be made in her memory to Seaford Christian Academy, 110 Holly St., Seaford, DE 19973.
