Marie N. Berghorn, 88 CLAYTON - Marie N. Berghorn, died Thursday, January 14, 2010, in Delaware Hospice, Milford. She was 88. Born in Hickman, Md., Mrs. Berghorn was the daughter of the late P. Martin and Elizabeth L. Brown Noble. Mrs. Berghorn worked for Choptank Electric Co-operative in Denton, Md. for fifteen years before moving to Delaware in 1961. She was a substitute school teacher in the Smyrna School System and served as Town Clerk in Clayton from 1978 to 1980, when she retired. Mrs. Berghorn was a member of Ewell's-St. Paul Methodist Church in Clayton. Mrs. Berhorn's first husband, Harry Preston Eaton, died in 1944. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Berghorn of Clayton; one daughter, Beverly A. Hignutt of Denton, Md.; one grandson, T. Wade Hignutt and his wife, Karen of Ridgely, Md.; two great-grandsons, Joshua Ryan Hignutt and Kaleb Andrew Hignutt, both of Ridgely, Md.; one sister, Joan N. Reed of Denton, Md.; and one brother, Francis M. Noble of Pikeville, Tenn. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2010, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second St., Denton, Md., where friends may call one hour before the service. The interment will be in the Denton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
