Marie K. Lofland, 86

FREDERICA - Marie K. Lofland of Frederica died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 86.

Mrs. Lofland was born in Queen Anne, Md., daughter of the late Karl and Lola Amanda (Smith) Wright.

She worked for nine years at Playtex, Dover, where she met her husband, Ralph Lofland. After she married, she stayed home and took care of her family and her home.

Mrs. Lofland was an active member for 27 years of the Independent Bible Fellowship Church, Harrington.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lofland, in 1998; and a son, Olin F. Rouse, in 1985.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Leon L. Lofland of Frederica and Darrell B. and Karen Lofland of Honeybrook, Pa.; a daughter, Diane M. Bunch of Bullhead City, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Matthew Lofland, Tabitha Lofland, Deborah Townsend and Lydia Lofland; and four great-grandchildren, Raymond F. Townsend IV, Emily Paige Townsend, Summer Rose Lofland and Madelyn Alisa Waltz.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, 50 Commerce St., Harrington.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the Independent Bible Fellowship Church, 6797 Milford-Harrington Highway, Harrington, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Bay Road, Frederica.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Delaware Association for the Blind, 800 West St., Wilmington, DE 19801.
