Mrs. Clark was born April 9, 1944 in Heerlen, Netherlands, the daughter of the late Hans and Kitty Huiskes. She was a homemaker who enjoyed painting and drawing. She also loved needle pointing, knitting, and crocheting. She liked traveling; especially to see nature, wildlife, birds, flowers, mountains, and the sea. She was fond of spending time with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her live-in grandmother, whom she was very close to. She is survived by her husband of over 19 years, James M. Clark; her daughter, Desiree de Blok and her husband Peter of Kerkrade, Netherlands; her son, Andre de Blok of Zwolle, Netherlands; two grandchildren, Ruben Kooter and Jim de Blok, both living nearby by their mom; and her eagerly-anticipated granddaughter, Zoë Kooter, born November 7th, 2012. A visitation for family and friends will held on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 at 1 p.m in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Memorial services will begin at 2 pm. In lieu of sending flowers to the funeral home or to the family, it was Maria's wish to have a flower cast into the sea in her memory. Letters of condolence may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
