Margaret P. Cahall, 79
CAMDEN - Margaret P. Cahall passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on April 20th, 2023. Margaret was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
After graduating from Longwood College in 1966, Margaret started teaching in Stafford County, Virginia. She then moved to Delaware and taught for the Caesar Rodney School District until June 1972. She spent the next several years raising Heather and Brooks, all while she helped her husband Tom run Target Business Services. Once Brooks and Heather were in school, Margaret went to work doing payroll audits, bookkeeping for Dr. Kidd and MetLife, and doing several small business payrolls in the Camden and Dover area. Many of you would remember the time she spent doing payroll at Hall's Restaurant in Camden. She cherished her retirement years that she spent babysitting her grandchildren, who fondly called her Maga.
Like her husband Tom, Margaret's biggest moments of joy came when she was with her family. Whether it was being an avid supporter of marching band or sporting events, celebrating holidays, shopping, baking cookies, or simply having a meal together, Margaret was happiest when her family surrounded her.
Her family would like to thank her team at Bayhealth Cancer Center for the wonderful care she was given during her 5 year-long battle with cancer. They would also like to thank Margie Dixon and Kris Knarr for their support and friendship.
Margaret is survived by her two children, Heather Childers (Mike) and Brooks Cahall (Debbie); and her three grandchildren, Hunter Absher (Amy), Gannon Childers (Kierstin), and Taylor Childers. In addition to her grandchildren, she had two great-granddaughters, Hazel Childers and Adelyn Jo Absher. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Walker; one nephew, and five nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on April 28th, 2023, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave, Wyoming; where family and friends may visit from 12 pm-1 pm. Burial will follow at Barratt's Chapel, 6362 Bay Rd., Frederica.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Fund. This fund helps cancer patients in need. Donations can be mailed to the attention of Jeanne Mazzatenta at Bayhealth Medical Center, c/o Bayhealth Foundation, 640 South State Street, Dover, DE 19901.
Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
