Margaret Joyce

DOVER - Margaret Joyce of Dover passed away, Sunday, September 6, 2015 at home. She was 88. Mrs. Joyce was born December 7, 1926 in Eden, North Carolina to the late L. O. Gauldin and Dora Patterson Gauldin. She was a homemaker and an Air Force wife traveling the world including three years in Germany. Mrs. Joyce enjoyed gardening, and visiting with her grandchildren. She volunteered for various causes at different bases and especially liked volunteer work at the Dover AFB USO. Mrs. Joyce was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dover. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, William Louis and Lindford J. Gauldin; sisters, Betty Burchell and Gloria Tally. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Lowell Joyce of Dover; sons, Dennis Joyce and his wife Linda of Glen Carbon, Illinois and Michael Joyce and his wife Janine of Darnestown, Maryland; grandchildren, Sarah, Susan, Kathleen, Ryan and Evan; great granddaughter, Bethany. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, September 14, 2015 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
