Margaret Carole Myers, 89

DENTON, Md. - Margaret Carole Myers of Denton died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, at the Caroline Home for Hospice, Denton. She was 89.

Born in Tuckahoe Neck, near Denton, Mrs. Myers was the daughter of the late William B. and Sarah Emily (Ireland) Parks.

Mrs. Myers lived in the Denton area most of her life and was a 1934 graduate of the Caroline High School, Denton.

She then moved to Swarthmore, Pa., where she married Mr. Newton in 1939.

She and her husband moved to the Eastern Shore where they became part-owners of Riley's Tea Room, Easton, from 1946 until 1952, where she was also a waitress.

She was a seamstress at Rob Roy in Ridgely for 15 years and had been a waitress at the H&G Restaurant in Easton in the 1970s.

Her first husband, Robert David Newton, died March 27, 1969. Her second husband, William Arthur Myers, died Aug. 10, 1988.

Mrs. Myers is survived by one daughter, Carole N. Morris of Denton; two stepdaughters, Sharon Gambriel of Easton, and Sylvann Wilkinson of Manitou Springs, Colo.; one grandson, Steven N. Morris; two granddaughters, Tammie Mulhern and Cathie Harvey; one step-grandson, Kevin Wilkinson; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Myers is predeceased by her stepson, Harry E.L. Myers; six brothers, Kennard, William, Tom, Charles, Henry and Melvin; and two sisters, Laura Melvin and Hazel Walls.

A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. Second St., Denton, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

The interment will be private at another time.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Caroline Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 362, Denton, MD 21629.
