Margaret A. 'Peg' Adams, 82

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Margaret A. "Peg" Adams of Chestertown died Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at her home. She was 82.

Mrs. Adams was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Lewis F. and Lillian (Alexander) Robinson.

She was a 1943 graduate of Conrad High School and a 1946 graduate of the Delaware Hospital School of Nursing.

Mrs. Adams served in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1956.

While a flight nurse stationed in Hawaii she met her late husband, Lawrence W. Adams Jr.

Mrs. Adams was a member of the Chestertown Presbyterian Church where she served as the first clerk of session and also as a deacon and elder.

Mrs. Adams was also very active in the Chestertown American Legion where she was past post commander in 1993.

She dedicated herself to her family and community, and always very active in the volunteer world.

Always ready to help in any way she was able, her smile would make one melt.

Mrs. Adams is survived by one daughter, Leslie Ann Miller of Chestertown; two sons, Joseph K. Adams of Chestertown and Lawrence W. Adams III of Worton; four grandchildren; and one niece, Valerie Dobbs of Denver, Colo.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chestertown Presbyterian Church.

A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown.

Interment will be 10 a.m. Monday in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock.

Instead of flowers, contributions can be made to Chestertown Presbyterian Church, 905 Gateway Drive, Chestertown, MD 21620.
