HOLLAND, N.Y. - Marcus D. Pratt of Holland died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, in Ft. Garland, Colo.
Marcus served in the Army in Africa and India during World War II.
He studied art and architecture, taught at the Art Institute of Buffalo and worked in construction, belonging to Carpenters Union Local 289 for many years.
Marcus spent part of each year in La Belle, Fla., and the other part in Fort Garland.
Everything Marcus touched he made beautiful.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John (late Leta) and Warren; and four sisters, Esther (late Elmer) Becker, Juliet (late Norbert) George, Eleanor (Robert) Blackman, and Nancy (late Victor) Schuppenhauer.
He is survived by his wife, Elisabeth R. (Bancroft); daughters, Abigail (Robert) Sengebush, Rebecca Pratt, Rachel (Max) Meindl, Emily (Patrick) McKenney; three brothers, William (late Mary), David (late Joan), Roger (Beverly) Pratt; a sister, Priscilla Pratt; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be 9 a.m. Saturday in Fort Garland.
Instead of flowers, donations may be made to the National Wildlife Society, the Audubon Society or the Sierra Club in his memory.
