MILFORD - Madeline C. Haggerty passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, December 5, 2014. She was born in Ocean City, Maryland on July 2, 1942, daughter of the late Horace and Frances (Daisey) Hudson. Maggie was a graduate of Stephen Decatur High School in Berlin, Maryland. She was a full time homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, and a proud grandmother, and was also involved with the activities of several community organizations. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Blue Hen VFW Post #6483 and the American Legion Post #3, a member of the Milford New Century Club, the Milford Senior Center, the Frederica Senior Center, and a member of the Reformation Lutheran Church in Milford where she was active for many years with their women's group, WELCA. In addition to her parents, Maggie was preceded in death by a son, Daniel C. Haggerty, and a brother, Kenneth Hudson. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Daniel A. Haggerty, two sons, Scott Allen Haggerty and his wife Theresa of Hanover, PA; and Jeffrey Haggerty and his wife Jackie of Berlin, MD; a daughter, Tammy D. Blose of Indiana, PA; three sisters, Joanne Cooper of Salisbury, MD, Laurel Fitzgerald and her husband Lee of Venice, FL, and Linda Keiter and her husband Marlin of Selbyville; and five grandchildren. A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 19, 2014 in the Chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, with entombment to follow. A celebration of Maggie's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Reformation Lutheran Church, 613 Lakeview Ave, Milford. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Reformation Lutheran Church, 613 Lakeview Ave, Milford, DE, 19963.
