Mabel Etta Reed, 90

CAMDEN - Mabel Etta Reed, of Camden, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, in the Milford Center. She was 90. Mrs. Reed was born Jan. 15, 1918, in North Carolina to the late Amos Sheppard and Carrie Greenwood Sheppard. She worked at the Hosiery Mill in Wyoming, and International Playtex in Dover. Mrs. Reed enjoyed her family, cooking, singing, baseball, crocheting, and sweets. She was a wonderful grandmother. Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her husband, George "Raymond" Reed in 1975; and her daughter, Norma Jeanne Parker in 2007. She is survived by her granddaughter, Nicole Wilkins and her husband Kenneth of Milford; grandsons, Michael Parker of Los Angeles, Calif., Gary Parker of Seaford; her sisters, Mary and Marie Walls of Barclay, Md., and her two great-grandsons, Jackson and Cooper Wilkins. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be private. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook may be signed at www.torbertfuneral.com
