Lydia B. Wagamon

HARBESON – Lydia B. Wagamon passed away on Dec. 24, 2018 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Lydia was born in Harbeson, Dec. 2, 1922, to the late Harry and Edith (Stewart) Barker.
Mrs. Wagamon was a Civilian Communications Operator during World War II, from 1942 to 1946, at Ft. Miles, Lewes, DE, a member of the Gray Ladies of WWII, American Legion Post Auxiliary of Milton and Long Neck, a representative for Avon for 49 years and Mary Kay for 6 years, member of Milton Bridge Club and Milton Red Hat Society, Home Extension Club, member of Diamond State Telephone Pioneers, and past member of Indian River Yacht Club. Her favorite colors were pink and lavender.
She was a member of Harbeson United Methodist Church and active in the United Methodist Women.
In addition to her parents, Lydia was preceded by her husband, Richard E. 'Dick' Wagamon and sister, Kathryn Carey.
She is survived by three children, Richard E. Wagamon, II and his wife, Karen, Brenda W. Hughes and her husband, Dennis, and Kristie W. O'Connell; three grandchildren, DJ Hughes and his wife, Alison, Daniel O'Connell and Hannah Wagamon; and two great-grandchildren, Lelia Hughes and Daisy Hughes.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown with a time of visitation beginning at 12 p.m. Interment will be at Harbeson Cemetery, Harbeson.
