CLAYTON - Luke N. Ohlinger, of Clayton, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 67. Mr. Ohlinger was born Feb. 3, 1942, in Berntownship, Pa., the son of the late Norman and Nora Kintzer Ohlinger. He worked as a truck driver for 40 years, retiring from Teamsters Local 326. He was a member of St. Johns Hain's Church in Wernersville, Pa. Mr. Ohlinger enjoyed watching NASCAR and wrestling and riding on his John Deere tractor, helping his neighbors and friends by plowing snow and cutting grass. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren play baseball and decorating his home for the holidays. Mr. Ohlinger was a frequent patron of the Smyrna Diner and loved being with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Ohlinger. Mr. Ohlinger is survived by his wife of 33 years, Pamela Reinbold Ohlinger; seven children, Norman Ohlinger and his wife, Laurie of Womelsdorf, Pa., David Ohlinger of Signal Hill, California, Linda Saul and her husband, Brian of Myerstown, Pa., Gloria Cardoso and her husband, Elias of Lebanon, Pa., Michelle Wilson of Clayton and April and Tanya Ohlinger both of Smyrna; two brothers, James A. Ohlinger and his wife, Carol of Robesonia, Pa., and Harold L. Ohlinger and his wife, Kathy of Wernersville; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many loving family members and close friends. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 20, in St. Johns Hain's Church, 591 North Church Road, Wernersville, Pa. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street, Smyrna. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 1151 Walker Road Suite 202 Dover, DE 19904. Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium Inc., 29 South Main Street Smyrna.
