Luella M. Cohee

LINCOLN - Luella M. Cohee passed away, Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, she was 89. She was born on Feb. 18, 1922 in St. Louis, Mo., daughter of the late Earl and Luella Vincent. She grew up in St. Louis and moved to Delaware with her family as a teenager. Luella was a loving wife and mother and "Mom Mom." She and her husband were the former owners and managers of Pine Haven Campsite. She loved to cook and gather with her family for holiday meals. She loved her pets and would help any injured or hungry stray. Her hobbies included reading and traveling. After her husband's death, Mrs. Cohee and her granddaughter Dawn, became really close and would go shopping and out to eat, sharing many good times. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Nelson Cohee Sr.; one sister and three brothers. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in -law, Nelson Jr. and Ruth Ann Cohee of Felton, and Roland and Donna Cohee, Wayne and Shirley Cohee, Dale and Sandra Cohee, all of Milford; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and her caregiver of the past six years, Wanda Willey. Services will be noon Monday, April 4, 2011, in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
