Louise Mae Manley, 81

BISHOPVILLE, Md. -- Louise Mae Manley, of Bishopville, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury. She was 81. Louise worked more than 40 years at Buntings Nursery, Selbyville, Del., retiring in 1988. Her husband, James, died in 1983. Louise was born May 16, 1927, to the late Robert and Laura Hall Mumford, in Showell. She was a member of St. John's AME Church, where she was involved with the Senior Choir, Steward Board, Missionary and was president of the Golden Aides. She is survived by five daughters, Mary Finney of Bishopville, Laura Purnell of Bayonne, N.J., Bertha Payton of Frankford, Del., and Joyce Ann Tingle of Bishopville; 14 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Edna Paulson and Catherine Mumford, both of Berlin, and Janie Cephas of Selbyville; and a brother, Ralph Mumford of Showell. Services will be noon Tuesday at Calvary Pentecostal Church, Worcester Highway 113, Bishopville, where friends may call two hours prior. Arrangements by Miller Funeral Services.
