DOVER - Lougonda Sue Johns, of Dover, passed away on Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 57.
She was born July 11, 1950, in Chestertown, Md., to Margie Wenk and the late Joseph Hamilton.
She moved to Dover and started working for Delaware Electric Signal for more than 20 years until she retired due to illness.
In her spare time, she enjoyed playing her music, cards, and helping others with problems and opinions.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Charles W. Johns; one daughter, Dottie Hamilton; one son, Brian Hamilton; two grandchildren, Leticia Hamilton and Joseph Smith; four sisters, Margie Hover, Brenda Battagalia, Gloria Miller of Maryland, and Algene Hamilton of New Mexico; three brothers, Lee Price, Duane Smith of Maryland, and Joseph Smith of Dover; a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and a very devoted friend and boss, Tony Abbott.
A memorial gathering will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Calvary Church of Nazarene, 1818 North Little Creek Road, Dover.
Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to the Autism Society of Delaware, 5572 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808.
