GRASONVILLE, Md. - LouAnn Collier passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on July 9, 2018.
Born in Marydel, Md. on Feb. 21, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Hilda Allen Thompson. She graduated from Queen Anne's County High School in the class of 1977. She married her high school sweetheart, Lewis "Skip" Collier, Sr., to whom she was married for 29 years. LouAnn worked at the outlets in Queenstown and later opened Collier's Day Care in Grasonville, which she owned and operated for 20 years. She enjoyed camping, line dancing, going on cruises, and volunteering with high school cheerleading. Her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren, especially taking her granddaughters for dinners, to feed the ducks, and for sleepovers. She was a member of Ducks Unlimited.
She is survived by her sons, Lewis Collier, Jr. (Erin) of Grasonville, Md. and William "Andy" Collier (Brittanie) of Trappe, Md.; her grandchildren, Camron Lewis, Aidan Lewis, McKenna Collier and Makenzie Collier; and her sisters, Patty Thompson of Smyrna, Anita Legg of Townsend and Brenda McCoy (Gary) of Dover. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Thompson.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P. A. in Centreville, Md., where friends and family may visit beginning at 12 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Sandtown.
