Lloyd Fred Moore, 75

Lloyd Fred Moore of Lewes passed away Friday, March 9, 2007, in his residence. He was 75.

Mr. Moore was born April 20, 1931, in Fords Mill, near Hyndman, Pa., son of the late Paul Buchannon and Pearl (Johnson) Moore.

Mr. Moore and his wife moved to Delaware from Pennsylvania in 1951.

He was employed by Townsend's Poultry for 32 years, retiring from the position of poultry egg production. He also worked more than 15 years with Shaffer's Service as a light mechanic.

Mr. Moore always enjoyed his return trips to Pennsylvania to visit with family and friends and spending time at McDonald's with friends. He made daily visits to his nephew's garage in Lewes and looked forward to long daily walks, rain or shine. He was deeply loved by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Stella Shaffer, Evelyn Robertson and Paul Moore Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruby (Kennell) Moore; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Earl and Sally Moore of State Line, Pa., Elmer and Jean Moore of Seaford and Orville and Virginia Moore of Cumberland, Md.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lottie Burley of Baltimore and Helen and Curtis Emerick of Lewes; his in-laws, Robert and Sylvia Kennell of Cumberland, Roy and Linda Kennell, Earl and Ruth Emerick, Ronnie and Pauline Leister, and Glenn and Evelyn Corley, all of Hyndman; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. The Rev. William Hopkins will officiate.

Burial will follow in Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Groome United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 299, Lewes, DE 19958.
