Linda L. Casterline, 66
DOVER - Linda L. Casterline of Dover died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 66.
Mrs. Casterline was born June 22, 1940, in Amory, Miss., to the late Paul and Maudine Wright.
She worked for more than 20 years, retiring in 2006 in the Caesar Rodney School District as a cook in the W. Reily Brown Elementary School cafeteria, as well as driving a bus for Cool's Bus Service.
Mrs. Casterline enjoyed traveling around the United States and going on day trips with family and friends to see flowers or just shopping.
She loved bowling and was on the bowling league at Brunswick Bowl as well as a member of the travel league. She enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves.
One of her joys in life was always making sure her family and friends were taken care of. She loved to be with them at gatherings and holidays always adding her love and special touch.
Mrs. Casterline's greatest joy was being Granny to her nine grandchildren and always had to have at least one of them with her. She was always there when ever anyone needed her and will be missed by all that knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Warren Wright.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, George "Jack" Casterline of Dover; a son, George B. Casterline and his wife Jenyfer of Clayton; two daughters, Paula Wood and her husband Bob of Dover, Tracy Higgins and her husband Brian of Minot, N.D.; the mother who raised her, Jewel Berry Wright from Amory; her sister, Nina Stacey and her husband Daniel of Hot Springs, Ark.; nine grandchildren, Jamie Wood, Bobbie Wood, Paige Wood, Christopher Wood and Autumn Wood, all of Dover, Rebecca Higgins and Rachael Higgins, both of North Dakota, and Sydney Casterline and Gabriel Casterline, both of Clayton.
Funeral services will be Monday at 8 p.m. in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, U.S. 10, Dover. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m.
Interment will be private.
