
Linda Comollo Burritt

After a ten year battle with early onset Alzheimer's Disease, Linda (Comollo) Burritt passed away peacefully at home in Smyrna, DE on Saturday November 12th, 2022. Attended by her beloved husband and constant caretaker, David, her son Brian Kaye, wife Nicole and five of her eleven grandchildren, Asher, Lucy, Dax, Lennon and Lola Kaye at her side.
Born in Edison, N.J. Linda was the fifth of six children to Cecelia and Arthur Comollo. Linda was an exceptional student attending St. Francis of Assisi, St Thomas Aquinas HS and graduating from the nursing program at Seton Hall University. She devoted her 35 year career to the care of others in pediatrics, oncology, and specialized nursing. In all walks of life, Linda was blessed to develop and maintain lifelong friends whose love and support was so important throughout her disease.
Linda was a kind, gentle soul blessed with grace and dignity. Her devotion to her son was her first priority. She shared her love of travel, dogs, and tennis with her husband David, and filled her spare time with family, reading, gardening & exercise.
Her love and devotion to her family and friends was a source of warmth and inspiration to all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, David; and son, Brian; Linda is survived by two stepsons, Bradley Burritt, of Pen Yan, N.Y. and Brian Burritt of Philadelphia, P.A.; a brother, John Comollo and wife Carmen of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Carolyn Chandler & husband Dennis of Solomons, MD., Dolores Argyrou and husband, Manny of Newnan, GA., Lorraine Preziosi and husband Michael of Norfolk, MA.; eleven grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna. Catholic services will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will be private.
